Is truth merely a lie that hasn’t been discovered as such yet? If so then the greatest truths easily become the greatest lies. If God is real, it’s the the most profound truth. If not, it’s the biggest lie.
Some of the most fundamental beliefs that you hold might be lies. If rooting these out isn’t your primary goal in life, what is?
Certainty is its own kind of deception. Certainty is sharp glass. Refusing to learn is a form of self deception. Everyone’s a coward if you push hard enough.

Men like to tell you they care about the truth but engage in transparent self deceptions. It’s cope.
Truth is a dangerous thing. In theory, walking up to the candy house and taking a peak inside is not going to hurt you. In practice, the kiss of death is sweet.
Suppose God isn’t real. And suppose many people need to believe in God to do good. Should you take God away from them? Say you do. You take God away. Suppose behind every devout religious person is a psychopath. There is no incentive you can offer them. They’re immune to therapy. They simply don’t care about others. In short, only God can save them.
Belief in God is often selfish. They do it because to them this is the longest game they can play. God demands them to be kind to others. Now take God away. You thought you had a problem. Now you’ve got a bigger problem.
